Hi I'm Beverly63 and I am very new on here as of today. But I do have questions. I was diagnosed with Osteomyelitis the first time when I was 10 yrs old and was in and out of the hospital back then a lot had surgery finally after 2 years of my parents taking me to family doctor in stead of an Orthopedic doctor. EDIT was my saving grace back then. I'm talking back in the 60's I was in bed for almost 4 years and was told I couldn't walk and had to be carried everywhere.
Enough rambling, what I what to know from some doctor if possible is this. I am going to be 63 this year and in the past year I have lost about 130 lbs trying to get healthier. I do have a lot of health issues, but losing the weight has really helped a lot. My concern is this about 2 years ago I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and since I was a kid I have had a couple of flare ups with the osteomyelitis.
I have spinal problems. I had a lumbar fusion in 2007 and I have to go and get a C-T scan done on the lower lumbar area because of having serve pain. I also just had a cervical spine fusion this February. I' m putting this down because I have been reading up on spine pain and I come across an article for Osteomyelitis, a Spinal Infection. Which is what brought me to all these questions I now have. If you are an individuals whose immune systems are low. Do I have reason for concern or maybe I'm just worrying for nothing at this time. Just asking a lot of questions because someone said I could, I hope I get some answers. Thank you anyway for taking the time to at least read this.:) :-)
