Hello I'm 17 years old and was recently diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease and a bulging disc in my lower back. Well I went to the doctor because I'm very active in sports( football wrestling and track) and I am prone to playing though pain so when my back started hurting during wrestling season I just over looked it. Well 5 months later its still bugging me so I decided to go to the doctor. After a X-Ray and MRI they decided it wasn't a dress fracture but instead DDD and a bulging disc. The doctor said I could continue playing sports and it won't affect me later in life. And that's all he said. Iv found all info on DDD on the Internet. So I would like to find other athletes playing with DDD and could give me some tips. Thanks!
I also was sent to physical therapy( have not made it yet)

As you know DDD happens to all people eventually but you are so young

Talk to your doc you may just need a light pain med or motrin when its aggravated after playing sports. If it worsens or you start to have worse symptoms neurologically go to the doc if you cant get relief. Also, watch the "bulge" with your doc.
I know that isn't much help but thats just my 2 cents.
    take care
