  • bulges need time! I had a huge central disc herniation at L5-S1 and it shredded til it was literally gone. Be very vigilant watching this as central herniation's are probs the worst. My job as a RN did not help my cause just made it worse. I have alot of woulda shoulda coulda's...just a heads up to listen to your body I guess is my point.
    take care

    Hello There-

I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain and that the pain meds are not working for you. I went through all of the same things with the non-surgical treatments before my surgery 7 days ago too. I would definitely recommend trying it all- PT, medications, injections, etc. before making the decision for surgery. I was also warned that if these didn't work that I would need surgery. Let us know what path you're taking and if you have any questions about what each one entails let us know, we've all experienced some form of this! :) Good luck!

  • Try to stay as positive as you can. Lots of people see great relief with the injections. Don't get too disappointed if you find the first shot or second doesn't so much. Usually they do these in a series and the 3rd one sometimes can "be the charm". Also you might want to talk with your spine doctor about the chiropractor. I know when it comes to disc issues they can do more harm than good. Hope you find a treatment that works soon. Good luck.
