Severe pain, but normal MRI

Hi everyone, hoping i can get some advice. I am 27, very healthy female, no kids (not the cause of my pain). i've always had some general back muscle pain, but recently ive started having excruciating pain in my lower back that radiates down my leg. It feels like an intense nerve pain and makes my knees buckle its so painful. At times I can't walk because of it. Ive had x-rays and an MRI, both came back normal. I've also been going to PT and doing hot/cold therapy. I'm just at a loss because the tests are coming back normal and ive never had this much constant pain. Its disrupting my life and making it impossible to do day to day activites. My regular doctor has referred me to a specialist at the local Spine Center. Any ideas of what this could be or what I should ask the specialist about? Any advice will help. I'm so frustrated and need answers.

  • Have you had standing x-rays or a upright MRI? Perhaps that is something you could ask your spine specialist about. Hope you are able to find some answers soon. Good luck!
