Spinal Cord Stimulator

Hi, my name is John and I'm getting my stimulator on Oct.1st 2013. I have had 10 back surgeries starting in 1991. I have hardware from T11 to S1. After a long journey we are now done fixing and have moved on to maintaining. Pain Meds. are not a option. The Doc. will be using St. Jude Stimulator with paddle leads. I would like to know if anyone has this done and how did it go? How long is the recovery , and how is the pain?
Thanks for your time
