My name is sarah and I have recently had a lumber discectomy. I had the operation last Friday which will be a week tomorrow and I came out of hospital four days ago. Found this forum on line and wanted to discuss experience with others who are going through same thing.
I had a herniated disc and also found out I have degenerative disk syndrome through my recent MRI scan. I was in bad pain for 7 weeks before surgery and could not walk properly. I decided to have my operation privately and was booked in within a week. My sergeant told me that as my disc had herniated so badly that surgery would be the only option.
My original sciatic leg pain has mostly gone now after surgery. My scar is sore and tender and I feel better than before surgery without a doubt. I am spending most of my days laying down although I have been walking slowly form1 mile Adam as this feels okay for me.
Hope to hear from you soon
