Hi all. I am 49 with multiple issues. Grade 1 spondy, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, herniated disc and just found out a couple of days ago, pars defect all in L4-L5. I have done 6 epidural injecions and PT with no improvement. My Dr. is great...he sent me to a surgeon saying if the treatments haven't worked I needed surgery probably. The surgeon (board certified neurosurgeon and very highly recommended by many) was the one who found the pars defect and we are planning XLIF in about 3 weeks. I'm just looking for others who have had an XLIF done and how their recoveries went.
