Mri clear but

Well I am new here, so hello just wanted to pick people's brains,
I have had awful arm pain and numbness for the last 6 weeks started in right arm but is now in both arms, wrists, thumbs especially and little fingers numb, other finger times are not quite right, it's like tooth ache in my arms, wakes me at night too, also my arms feel v weak, and my grip is not as good I keep dropping my phone.seen GP who sent me to physio but pain etc got worse so sent for MRI scan which show some v small bone spurs on c5-6 but these were not touching any nerves or spinal cord. I am taking gabapentin for the pain, in the last week I have had occasional pain in my big toes, also recently my balance is a little off but not sure if this is the meds or not. Any ideas what else could cause all this pain ? My gp has referred me to the neurologist but appointment isn't until dec 2nd
Any info gratefully received

  • haven't heard of armpain that is like a toothache. Is it deep ache in the bones? Or sharp burning on surface like popcorn stuck in your gum. Is it specific to an area of your arms? Write down as much specific info as you can before you Drs visit and bring it with you to your visit. The more specificity might help your Dr find the cause of your problems.

When I first saw doc everything was "ache". Hurt so long couldn't tell difference just hurt. But now I know stinging makes them think one thing while ache would b something else.

I've had some those symptoms. Stumbled around for a while, (which mite b big deal) but wear only flat shoes now an do some better.

Sometimes it takes doc couple visits to get u everything u need.
  • until I got to the big toe hurting and being off balance. Of course these can be totally unrelated symptoms.
When my neck issues first started i saw a nuerologist who swore it was carpal tunnel and he could fix all my problems with surgery on both hands. Even when the EMG came back with just mild CT he tried to tell me mild hurts worse than severe.
Hopefully you'll get a better diagnosis with the nuerologist.
