Not picked up by MRI

After 3 years of sciatic pain & being fobbed off by GP I begged to be referred to hospital. MRI scan showed L5, S1 bulge. Specialist wanted me to give it more time to heal but as single working mum I felt this was no longer an option. I have, at times, been suicidal due to the pain after hoovering or cutting grass. Had surgery yesterday & surgeon said the pressure was not due to disc but due to scar tissue. Long & short is if they hadn't tried surgery, I would have continued in this pain. Already have feeling returned to left leg and am hopeful of full recovery. All because I insisted at every level that I was not prepared to put up with this pain because I'd had 'big babies' or 'was not getting younger'. You know your own body, insist on your gut feeling for treatment x
