laminotomy and framinotomy and cannibis

I am having these two surgeries in March. L-3-L-4 and L-4-L5.

Really scared.

I also just got my ID card for cannibis ( tincture) for pain and sleep......as all opiates make me itch all night long.
I cannot seem to take anything for pain including Tramadol.

I usually vomit when I have surgery from morphine, demeral etc. etc..

I tried the cannibus last night....... it did not work... Per usual I woke up with radicular and periferal neuropathy from back down both legs and feet screaming with pain every two hrs....

I have to stand up and walk and then go back and try to rest with ice on my back and heating pad over my side.

I go to bed with ice and heat both every night... there is rarely any let up.

very discouraged cannibus tincture did not work....

I was advised it would NOT work post op....and don't know what to tell the anesthesiologist to give me....

Torodol in the vein helped in the ER when I fell and broke my ribs from siatica... but you can't have that for the duration of my hospital stay and post op.

Also need advice about these two surgeries.. pls help... thank you.

  • Have you tried taking an Antihistamine such as Benadryl with the Narcotic? It keeps me from itching. Also, Norco doesn't make me itch hardly at all.

  • I had my second lumbar spine surgery on 12/27/13. My Rx Meds have stopped working and tylenol, motrin and aleve never worked. I have a cardiac contraindication for tordol. I'm miserable right now as the surgery achieved its objective and helped my bladder and left butt, hip, leg and foot but I woke up out of surgery with tons of issues down the right side, the issues on the right side or twice as worse as the left ever was. The insomnia from the pain is kicking my butt. I'm not a candidate for the nerve signal disruption implant so I'm bummed. Looks like fusion here I come. Shoot!
