Five level cervical-thoracic fusion

Hi guys! It has been quite a while since I have been on here. I chronicaled my experience with the 3 level low back fusion a few years ago. Now unfortunately the deteriation has made it so bad that I have to undergo a five level cervical-thoracic fusion this Feb 26. C3-T1. Any help out there??? I will be creating a diary of my experience so that others may benefit, like I did last time. I am SO scared of this one.......not sure what is going to happen post-op. Had a swallow study last week and they said that I have a LOT of problems with refulx and getting things stuck in my tongue. From what the surgeon told me, the troble swallowing will be very much increased after the surgery. In fact, it seems as though during the first three weeks after the surgery I will only be able to have room temperature fluids. Any help/advice out there?? Anyone been through this?
