Hello after long absence

Hey y'all, I just am checking back in with this site after a long absence. I had an "eventful" L5-S1 PLIF/allograft bone surgery in November of '09. It never fused, I couldn't return to my very physical job as a steel mill railroad worker. My company had very good long-term disability insurance, and eventually Social Security Disability stepped in for a big part.

After my surgery, and the difficult time afterward, I got SO much support from this site, and I can't thank the members enough for that. A just kind of wanted to check back and see how some of the old timers were doing (I hope they're all healed up and gone, but I see that ain't the case).

Gosh, this back surgery has been a life changer in so many ways. Career ended, divorced, classified as long term disabled. In some ways, it sucks, but in some ways, this has been a good time of life..almost like starting again with a clean slate.

Anyhow, if there's anything I can offer in the way of my long term experience, I'll certainly be glad to share.

Aloha,

Aaron :)
