ACDF surgery

Loving this forum for answers. Great resource! I am almost 3 months post surgery. Spinal fusion on C5-C7 removal of 2 discs. My right arm was not working pre surgery and seems to be worse now. I have no range of motion. My back pain has been replaced with just a tightness, some pain but bearable not like it used to be. The herniated disc just severed the nerve so my brain is not telling my arm to move. Surgery did not help this. I am doing PT on the west coast as I am here for 6 weeks but will be back soon to my PT on the east coast. Does anyone else have or know of this problem? I find PT here to be better, but I am showing just a tiny bit of improvement on my arm. Thank you for your comments, I am learning a lot!

  • I have had worsening symptoms since I had thee same procedure done ACDF C 5- C7 as well. My hands are more numb and that waxes and wanes but my neck pain is ever present and worsening. I hope your new PT is good for you. Mine had focused on loosening my rock solid muscles.
Try to keep smiling and doing but oh sooooo tired of intense pain battle---tired. I hurt and know it doesn't define me but it sure does change things.
