  • No, not seeing any hallucinations. Just the music, talking.

  • Does your dr know this is happening to you? How long have you been hearing the music? If you have told your dr, what does he say??

  • My hallucinations, hearing music, seeing things & being paranoid all went away when I discontinued the medicine. Do you know which medicine is causing it? Is it the ambien? Have they tried you on other sleeping meds, if this one is the cause? When you say you hear talking? Can you make out what is being said? I was hearing voices too, I was even talking back to them, full complete conversations.

Mine were so bad. I even thought people had been at my home for a visit that hadn't even been there? So weird what certain medications, that are supposed to help us, does to our psyche. I was a complete mess during this time. Its something I never want to experience again. It was definitely a traumatic experience for me. It took me quiet some time to get past some of the things I felt, saw and heard

I haven't been taking ambien for years, so the hallucinations are gone. But the voices and music- I am consistently sleeping very poorly; like only 3-4 hours per night. I take my cyclobenzaprine at bed time . I think it's the combination of the two. When I get more sleep, it seems fine.

  • I haven't heard music with my meds, but when I was on Oxycontin, my tinnitus (ringing in my ears) was worse. There is the slight risk of hearing loss with many pain meds. Politics aside, over use of pain meds is what caused Rush Limbaugh's hearing loss.

  • Sarah,
As far as the hallucinations go, we both have very similar experiences. Are you concerned with the hallucinations? I am worried they won't stop, even if/when they take all the medicine that I think is causing it out of my pump. What do you think?
2000- spinal fusion, complete spine due to scoliosis
2012- pain began, started treatment for chronic pain
2013- install of pain pump, procedures to address complications
    2014-blood patch, spinal fluid leak
  • I thought I was the only person hearing that ! I am on Xanax and hydrocodone and Cymbalta and now Butran
  • if you are hearing things pg, it would be wise to discuss those symptoms with your doctor, to make sure that it isn't a problem with a combination of the medications or too strong a dosage of medications contributing to the hallucinations.
