First of all I'm sorry that you are hurting. Please don't type in all caps because it is considered yelling on the forum and it is very difficult to read.

When did you have your last surgery? That is important for several reasons........spine surgery is not like other types of surgery, the recovery process is long, and often involves what patients percieve as set backs........the nerve pain may not have disappeared, but what you may not realize is that if the nerve was pinched for some time, it takes months for the nerves to recover once the compression is relieved. Nerves only grow at a rate of 1-2 mm per month, and depending on the time the nerves were compressed, and how much of the nerve was damaged, determines how long it will take for it to recover.
As far as a diagnosis of failed back surgery, that is not really a diagnosis, but an outcome of surgery........if you have had surgery recently, it does not necessarily mean that surgery has failed, but that you are still in the recovery phase of the surgery.......so you may not want to panic, just yet.

Scar tissue can be a factor , so there may be some issues with that, but again, it may be too early to be concerned, and as time goes on, you may find that your symptoms are improving, slowly but improving none the less.
  • What kind of doctor are you seeing now? Sometimes the surgeon will only prescribe medications for a short period of time. It could be time to start seeing a Pain Management Specialist to help manage your pain while you're recovering from surgery.
