Screw removal after burst fracture

Hi everyone, almost a year ago I fell from a ladder and suffered a burst fracture to l2. I had 4 screws and 2 rods between l1 and l3 and the pain isn't too bad apart from when I'm bending the screws irritate my muscle on the left hand side. I am going back to the hospital soon to see about having the screws removed and was looking for people's opinions who have been in a similar situation. My bones have not been fused together the screws were just to help healing. The main thing I wanted advice on was how long I might have to take off work for the operation. I work as an electrician so fairly physical.

Thanks in advance
Garry
