My Chronic Pain is getting worse

My habits haven't changed all that much, but my pain has. I have dealt with chronic pain for quite a number of years now, so pain is nothing new; But the past couple of weeks things have been changing. I started waking up a little stiffer and every once in a while when I would step down (I guess too hard or uneven, something) I will get a sharp pain in my lower low back, and I just can't get comfortable in a sitting position with out that same sharp pain. I have scoliosis, and I thought (for a while) that I was getting straighter, better. Yesterday was the worst yet, when my Boyfriend took a look, my spine was way off and swelled out. Stretching still gets me moving better but at the end of the day, I'm still in pain and if I stay in (any) one position too long I get all stiff and again it's tough to get up and stretched out. Any Ideas on what may be causing these new symptoms?
