Intense neck pain after adjustment

I went to the chiropractor as a suggestion from my midwife regarding back pain. I'm 8 months pregnant. The doctor adjusted my back, which significantly helped with that but he also adjusted my neck.
Since that day I have had neck pain that gets worse every day. It's been almost two weeks so it is not an issue of soreness. I have intense pain on the left side of my neck at the base of my scull to the point where I can't even leave the house. I have been taking Tylenol to manage it but I have to do something about this as it is increasingly getting worse. I am terrified of going back and receiving another adjustment that could seriously hurt me further. If anybody has ever experienced anything like this, please advise.. thank you

  • I would talk to your midwife about the issue. Obviously the pain you have now could get worse with another adjustment. I truly believe that not all people can tolerate adjustments like that. Maybe she will have an idea on what to do now. I hope things get better. Good Luck

  • Do you have a family doctor? It is probably a good idea to get checked out to make sure the chiropractor didn't do any serious damage. I would not go back to the chiropractor, that is for sure. I'd probably have something to say to the midwife, too.
