  • 3 weeks after fusion surgery is still REALLY early days. Are you following all of the instructions & restrictions? Please don't push yourself too hard. Many people end-up with a lot of problems after fusion because they feel like they can do more than they should.
I would contact your surgeon just to be sure. Its better to be safe than sorry. Are you taking anything for nerve pain at the moment or do you just have prescription narcotic pain pills?
Best of luck with your recovery. Please be patient ;-)

  • I'm 8 weeks post TLIF & I've had nerve pain in my ankle for at least 6 months. My surgeon seems to think it will settle & is a little bewildered it's there & nowhere else. Some days it settles to a tolerable level, others drives me to distraction. I'm not taking any nerve medication or narcotic pain relief, just paracetamol (although I have been taking an over the counter paracetamol/codeine mix the last couple of nights).I'm going to give it another month & chat to my surgeon at my next appointment.

I'd ring & ask your surgeon.
