Back feels like electrical shocks going through it

Although I have watched this Forum for years.. this is my first post.
I took the dog out a bit ago and when I leaned down to pick up the "doggie mess"... When I straightened up... it felt like "Electrical Shocks" going through my ENTIRE back... Mostly lower but EXCRUCIATING pain... Took me 10 minutes to walk the few feet into the condo.
I have had back problems for years... Sciatica, Multiple "L" problems, degenerative back issues, arthritis, etc.... and have gone through facet injections, other injections (probably steroids), pain meds of a heavy type...
The dr. suggested surgery a few years back... but it scares me silly.
NOW... I am in such pain...... just because I squatted down and this happened when I tried to get up.
Any one had this? I am in PAIN.... Diane

  • If the pain is that bad and the electric shock feelings are present, it would be wise to consult your doctor for further evaluation.
It may be a muscle pull but it could be something else as well.
