Ive decided that it is time for me to quit working, my body is losing the battle and I just dont think I can take anymore. Any advise from those on social security to speed up the process would be appreciated


  • Unfortunately, there is no way to speed up the process. If you have a disease listed in the SS handbook, you will not be subjected to endless tests and interviews and go right through. If you are suffering from something not on that list, be prepared for 3 to 6 months of paperwork, and being examined by more than one doctor. In most cases, the applicant is refused the first time. I went through this process for my wife so I am speaking from experience. You can download the forms to get started.

    Emergency surgery in March of 2006 for spinal infection of L 2 and L 3. During surgery, discovered I had Cauda Equina Syndrome. Spine became unstable after surgery and had 360 fusion with 10 pedicle screws, plates and rods in April of 2007.
