Canned Phrases

Spinal problems have become so evident in the past couple of years, there are a number of coined phrases that go along with each situation.

Here are just some that we hear almost weekly
  • - My spine is like an 80 year old.....- They cant see how I can continue to walk- They have never seen a situation so bad- If you dont have surgery, you will never walk again- etc
The reason I bring this up here is because at times some doctors like to dramatize and sell their patients on the seriousness of their condition.
All the above could be turned around and made into something positive. That is just the way things are worded. Whats more important than those big key words are the facts. Do I need surgery? How so? And if I dont?

My doctor friend has seen a MRI of an 80 year old and I ONLY wish mine would like as good at that! Its all in wording
