Normal pain getting worse ?

I have had normal back pain for over a year now. It included lower back, hips, legs and feet. The fetal position would relieve it if it was severe pain. Now I am having pain in both legs at the same time and sitting or the fetal position doesnt relieve it at all. I have severe cramped legs with severe burning feeling very numb in the lower legs and feet. Very bad aching in the hips. Swelling in my left leg all the way up too my mid back region. Also swelling in my mid back with knots in the same area. I went to the ER I got a Demerol shot and norcos and the shot absolutly did nothing for my pain. Has anyone else had this problem and if so is it serious or will it eventaully go away ?

  • You should consult with your spine surgeon or your primary care doctor for evaluation and treatment if the symptoms have worsened.

  • Have you seen any doctors about this in the past? Constant pain like that isn't 'normal'. I come from a family of back pain sufferers & I considered it normal to have a certain amount of pain in my back & down my legs it's really not. Can you see you GP & get referred to a spine specialist?
