My doctor does several TLIF cases and I want to make sure we are coding the cases correctly. He bills 22633 with 63056 and 63047 for decompression including transpedicular approach; per edits 59 mod can be added to both 63056 and 63047 but I am not sure if the two codes warrant the 59 mod.

There is no member on this board that is qualified to provide the details behind medical billing codes. This is something that you need to discuss with your doctor. There has been tremendous plans in place to standardize medical billing codes. It is a very difficult and tedious work effort to decipher all of this.
Your best answers will come from the medical administrators at your doctor's office. The doctor may check off a billing code, but the details can be explained by the billing office.
