Lower back pain

60 yr. old male. I had previous surgery at L-5, S-1 in 2007. Current MRI shows another herniation.I have been told that a second surgery at this location would be twice as difficult as previous and would not reduce the back pain. I have disc deterioration at L-3 and L-4. Back pain now is chronic and being on my feet for more than 20 minutes becomes quiet painful.

  • Are they doing a fusion this time? They always say its not for pain but many get considerable pain relief.
There's a forum here for recovering from surgery. Maybe reading people's experiences with recovery & what's helped them will make things a bit easier for you.
