How long does it take to recover after having a synovial cyst removed at L4 and L5

I have a synovial cyst and 2 buldging disc formed at L4 and L5. This is a workers comp injury. The nerve pain is horrific in my legs.Went to bed one night and my legs literally felt like they were in fire
Has anyone else had nerve pain like this in their legs from a cyst? And do you still have pain after it is removed. I've been a runner and weight lifter for the past 4 years and want to return to some kind of gym setting. This is killing me.

  • I had a cyst removed from my t1 - t5. Recovery can be up to two years. May i ask how this was a workers comp injury (the cyst). I had my cyst removed 4 months ago and having physiotherapy & hydro, you may not be back at the gym for a while lifting weights from my opinion, they may cause further damage. Don't worry about the nerve pain, it should be gone when the cyst is removed and something is done about the discs.
