Hi all! Thank you for all the information and posts related to pain , neck/back issues etc. I am a 51 y/o with cervical degeneration/ stenosis etc. The ortho and neuro surgeon recommend a Cervical fusion A& P for C 3-7 . I have chronic pain and have done the gamet of tests and therapies and am on chronic pain management. I am also an RN for 30 years and have seen the good and bad outcomes for people with chronic pain /interventions/surgeries and outcomes. I am getting tired of my life and the control the pain has in it. I have discovered my world is getting smaller because of it. ( balancing activity with rest ) I ride the fence whether to take the risk of this major surgery. I have dealt with this for about ten yrs now . I am interested in your views and personal experiences. Does anyone else have the cervical degeneration as well as degeneration of the thumb joint and carpel tunnel? Does any one else have difficulty discerning where the pain is from. My fingers /hands have been numb for so long that when asked where the numbness is at is difficult to pinpoint as it has been there so long. I now sleep in a recliner to get rest as I can only lay down for an hour or so in bed.Even with my ortho pillows etc. I am also concerned at my long term use of narcotics for pain management on the brain and heart. Thank you for having me and I look forward to your input and decision making you utilized to make your decision. Bella1949
