How many Discs???

edited 02/13/2015 - 8:18 PM in Degenerative Disc Disease

I am in the army and have had many years of lifting heavy things, as a result i have back problems. In 2013 I had an extreme flare up with pain in my back and my left leg (calf and foot) going numb. I went to the unit PA who gave me the leg raise test and informed me i had a herniated disc. It healed somewhat but i have lingering bits of numbness and occasional foot pains in my left foot. I finally was able to get an MRI today and i THINK i may have DDD. I would love to share my MRI with anyone who could give there 2 cents and experience with DDD. My main question is there a number of bad discs that a doc uses to say i have DDD? I think i may have 4 bad ones judging by MRI, but i am no doctor. I say that cause the good ones are white on the MRI which means they have fluid. 4 of mine are dark with 2 which appear to be pressing on nerves. any advice? i can share my MRI with anyone willing to compare to theirs. Also i have a Doc appt on Wednesday to go over everything, but curiosity has got the best of me.
