Piriformis release surgery?

Has anyone had piriformis release surgery? Did it help? I've tried everything up to this point for my piriformis syndrome and nothing has worked. Never thought I would be considering surgery, but thought I would get opinions first if they were out there. Thanks in advance!
*Denise* Over 2 years of chronic pain in right hip, buttock, lower back, and sometimes leg/foot. No definitive diagnoses for my sciatica despite numerous MRI's. Underwent arthroscopic labral repair surgery in 12/2015 which did not alleviate any pain. Trying to live a normal life!

Hello. I am male 54 yo. I suffered lower back, right knee, groin pain for many years. Tons of tests from soup to nuts. I finally had a Neurography Scan done which showed that my sciatic nerve bifurcated above my piriformis. Half went in front of piriformis and the other half went into and back out the same side of my piriformis. An anomaly. Anyhow I had the release done April 20 2015. I'm walking 2.5 miles per day already. All of the aforementioned pains are virtually gone. It takes a while for the nerve to heal from top down to point of impingement. xxxxx It's corrected now and as I mentioned doing well. Best wishes to you!
