post op anxitey and sleeplessness

hi there, i am a 53 year old male , printer by trade, i have just had a 8 hour spinal op 6 wks ago , i had a fusion L2/4 a osteotomy single level ant L 4/5 to correct an earlier fusion problem and screws into my pelvis, then rods and screws up to the fusion, my problem is that my back pain is getting very very slowly better , but the lack of sleep and anxiety /panic is causing major [feels life threatning\ 53 year old former strong guys shouldn't cry all the time. i have a wonderful wife of 31 years , but she must work. i take sleeping pills but they only work short term [ 2 hours] i am at my witts end, any thoughts/ replys would be great. thanks , ps not sure where i should be posting this [ ist time]
