born abnormality

Hi, I'm 34. I was born with only a C45 and c56 discs. C1 to C4 fused. I had them replaced in 2006. Now in 2015 Jan did a c6 c7 fortomatony. My hands were in pain and after surgery have pins and needles feeling in left fingers. I work in a rail yard and my company doc says I'm fit to go back to the yard. I wanna know wat can I do to fight tht cos I'm not ready or might not be ready for lifting stuff
