Medications that works

Hello everyone, I have tried everything from Advil, Tylenol extra strength, meloxicane, lyrica, gabapentin and now Vicodin and morphine sulfate ER together.

I hate the morphine and vicodin and do T feel any relief. I take 10mg of vicodin and 30mg of MS daily. I refuse to take any more doses since I don't want to become dependent. I actually will take a week off every other week just so I don't get addicted.

I was wondering has anyone else found any kind of Medicine other than narcotics that actually work? I don't want to take these medicines any more.

I have bulging/protruding disc in my cervical c2-c7, degeneration of disc and facet joint arthritis with pain I my left shoulder. I can not more my left are very well due to pain.

I also have a fact joint cyst at T1-L1 with the same as above... Degeneration, bulging /protruding disc and narrowing all g with bone spurs in both cervical and lumbar.

My hips hurt to sleep (when I do sleep). I also take flexeril and Xanax. I am so tired of meds and just want some relief. Has anyone had any luck with anything non narcotic?

The only time my back does not hurt is when I sit in the hot tube. If I stand, sit or wake or lay down for any length of time the pain is ridiculous. Even riding in a car puts me in tears. I am only 53 yrs old and worked in customer service for 32yrs...sitting, keying orders and phone calls all day long. I can't turn my head to the left without pain. It's now to the point where if I try to cross my legs the pain is like a pulling in my lower back.

Any advice?

  • they will not ever provide us with the pain relief we all seek. neither will any other form of pain management. the idea is to reduce and manage. have you incorporated a tens machine? a simple heating pad? ice/heat packs? pt? acupuncture? massage therapy? aqua therapy? again, the idea is to reduce and manage.

Realize that FEAR is our worst enemy. Get up & get out in that stormy weather of the real world & kick fear in the teeth. Stare at it dead in the eyes & walk right through it into the storm; because once you're wet, you won’t fear the rain anymore
  • I constantly use the heating pad. As for activity I use my hot tub daily as it's the only thing that makes it feel good. I have not done any PT since my insurance company stopped paying me disability which I am appealing as I type. Like. It'd funds right now barely enough to pay all current living expenses. The insurance company put me from shirt term disability to long term. After only 6 months of long term they denied me. I have filed with social security through an attorney but hearing not until October.

I also have fibromyalgia, which is another reason my whole body hurts. Can't afford the Tens right now. My PCP wants me to go to the spine clinic but again there are the limited funds problem again.

Just don't want to take the narcotics anymore. I would rather take some thing Jon narcotic that's less harmful in the long Run, than to continue with the narcotics that don't work anyways. I am definitely not drug seeking. They want to raise the amount I'm taking now and I refuse. Just wondering if anyone has had any better results with non narcotics that I haven't tried.
