I hope you're well! I've been reading a lot of the posts on this forum for a while now since I've been suffering from lower back pain for a while now and you've all been so helpful.
I've recently had a discectomy, around two weeks ago and I'm currently resting as well as doing regular PT sessions.
I've been told by my surgeon that because of my job (I am a teacher) I shouldn't be going back to work for at least 3 months. I need to recover and prepare my body for standing as well as sitting for long hours daily. However I've recently had to change my PT and she's told me that I should go back to work and start standing to strengthen my leg. I still do feel a lot of pain when standing or sitting so I'm not sure what to do.
I just wanted to know if anyone has any advice or personal experience. I know that at the end of the day it's my decision but I really don't want to hinder my recovery. I definitely don't want to go through all this again.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!
