Hello everybody, Iam 8 months out of Cervical 5,6,7 disectomy and fusion. I have been having tightness around my shoulders into the base of my skull, it feels like I'm going to pass out at times and very stiff, numbness and stuff. My neurosurgeon keeps reminding me that I have had a fusion and that it takes time to get use to and that the MRI is perfect and everything is fine and referred me to a pain management Dr. I took some injections in my upper back and lower back and now Iam having Sacroiliac injections. Is anybody else having issues with their fusion? Iam 44 years old and I work out 3 to 4 times a week and try to avoid Norco or Soma at all costs.

Were the injections to your upper and lower back effective?

You said you work out 3 to 4 times a week.
Does doctor know the kind of work outs you are doing?
Do your symptoms increase with or after your work out?

Did you have activity limitations or restrictions after surgery?
And did the doctor lift all restrictions?
Are work outs part of doctors orders or you are doing on you own?

With the way you feel and near passing out, I would ask doctor if it's ok to take a break from workouts for awhile.
Like a little test to see if with rest from work outs lessens any of your symptoms.

Would your PM doctor consider other testing! I know you had MRI, but sometimes a nerve conduction test could show if other area may be involved. That just example, as there are other tests out there.

Please continue to communicate your symptoms to doc, and whether treatments effective or not.
