Caudal Injection- What to Expect?

I am currently suffering from tailbone pain and will be getting a caudal injection fairly soon. My question is, what should I expect? I am doing it without sedation so I just want to know what it is going to be like. Does anyone out there have any advice on how to prepare for this procedure? I am quite nervous, but would definitely like to know exactly how it's going to be, no sugar coating. I think that will help calm my nerves in some weird way. Thank you, any response is greatly appreciated.

  • I have a caudal scheduled on the 17th myself. I've had 6 epidural and a nerve block and none provide relief. Doc said he's basically trying a shotgun approach since my issues are so widespread and he's hoping it helps at least a little bit. Chiropractor said I have impingement on both sides so my vertebrae is almost on top of each other. Pain just gets worse every day regardless of what is tried or what meds I take. Chiro said my spine at the base has zero movement or stability and my one leg has no motor or reflex function. Foot is almost completely numb now. Yet I'm still working 12 hours a day. When is enough enough?
