Persistent nausea after ACDF surgery

Hi All,
Have any of you had occasional nausea since your ACDF surgery? I have it after I eat. Just a queasy feeling, but not bad enough to vomit. I am also having some heartburn. I am three weeks post op. I know that your esophogus sometimes is involved in this type of surgery. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

  • Hi there. I had c5-6 ACDF surgery Friday and so far I am not having any problems with nausea or heartburn.

Maybe either speak to a chemist or your Dr about some anti sickness pills and something for the heartburn.

Good luck with your continued recovery :)
  • My ACDF C5/C6 was 2 weeks ago tomorrow. My doc has me taking Phenergan. I had to take it 3 times a day the first week. This week has been better. I have only noticed it 3 times and only one of those times did I have to take the Phenergan. It almost feels like morning sickness to me (definitely not prego). For me it happens when the plate is bothering me really bad. It may even be possible the plate could be nudging the gag reflex spot.
