Pain medication S/P TLIF, 4 wks post op

Hi to all the recoveries,
I am just around 4 weeks post op from L5-S1 TLIF, one level fusion. I have my first op xray this week and see my Neurosurgeon on Monday the 29th. I am still in a moderate amount of pain and have decreased my pain meds from 6 Percocet per day (5/325 mg) to 4 perc per day. Tylenol xtra strength does not help with the pain :(. The pain I had prior to surgery is decreased, however I am still having muscle soreness and throbbing pain that worsens at night in the morning time. When I tried decreasing my dose to less then 4 per day, I was significantly less able to move around more. I also have some swelling on top of my incision which I am still icing. I hope this is normal? I am worried that I should be rebounding faster and reducing my pain meds. I wish I had greater relief with the Tylenol. I don't take Valium, it makes me feel tired during the day and my mood goes down. I am off of work till late July. Please let me know your thoughts if anyone is going through these feelings/worries.
** I hope everything is okay with my Xray. Not sure if I should call my Dr's prior to Monday about the swelling.
