Turning the Corner, When Did You Know?

I feel that I am finally turning the corner. It happened in the last week or so. There were a couple times last week that I didn't use all of the breakthrough Meds but at first I chalked it up to "nothing really." Then I was able to touch the table on my own when lying flat on my back. Normal arm and shoulder movements no longer hurt. But the kicker was that the last two times the pain in physical therapy was a good kind of pain and my arm felt better after the end of the session.

When did you know ?

I'm so happy that you are turning the corner! I've been following your story because it's simular to mine. It's great that you can cut back on your pain meds.
    I wish you continued success!

Wolf, I am happy for you.
I wish that that turn stays for a while.

I've turned the corner many times over the years and I have always been thankful for as long as the relief lasted.

In my case, I know its just a question of when...so any relief is looked at as a gift. So , when the corner turns the other way,
    I am fine with it.

But, I can only hope that the corner you turned stays straight and forward for you as long as possible. My best wishes to you.

  • Just got out of PT minutes ago and it feels good again. My therapist thinks end of August for PT, I do too. I also had a PM visit early in the week and he is thinking that Septemebr would be the month to wrap up the meds. Not sure exactly what he plans to do since this ended up taking much longer than originally thought. He mentioned a 3 week period in September. He has only given me permission to cut out the Norco over the next few weeks but not the base.

I admit I am a little bit worried about this thing happening again down the road. I hope to heck not but I know it's possible.

The last three days I've only taken one Norco on top of the base ZoHydro to pass the day. I know it's close now the same thing happened after ACDF. Once that flips I'll be in scoring position with a first down at the ten yard line.

Quick Update: it's now one week of one Norco.

Check back in first week of August for another update.
