I am 47 and have struggled with a bad back for over 7 years. I injured myself in my twenties and I believe it is coming back to haunt me.
Up until end of March I was getting regular pain injections and doing quite well. Suddenly the pain is out of control and my right leg does not work properly, my foot is also dropped.
Here in Canada it would take me till Christmas to get an MRI so I am paying for one privately, it happens the day after tomorrow. My GP is saying quite possibly it is not a surgical fix and I am to the point that I want surgery to improve quality of life. Even a 40% improvement would be great.
My last MRI 2 years ago showed one of my herniated discs had pushed the nerve against the side of the canal is runs in. For my leg to be affected it has to be worse but I am so scared that I will have to live with this.
Your thoughts and support are greatly appreciated.
