Know the screams of pain.  Laying in bed telling yourself the pain will subside, the pain will get better, the pain, the extreme pain....ER is on your mind, but you tell yourself I'm breathing, it's not a heart attack, must fight through the pain, no ER, please let me fall asleep.  Don't want to wake up, but you do and hopefully it's a better day/night of less pain.

"hopefully it's a better day/night of less pain."

Akira,  its kind of sad in a way that we live our entire chronic pain life using exactly what you said to want to go on. But what else are we going to do when a flare hits or its a really increased level of pain.
Do your due dilegence, trust you know your body and question everything if it does not fit. Advocate for yourself and you will be suprised what will be revealed trusting your body and instinct.

  • Today is one of 'those' days ... In my heart I am crying "why me?" But my head answers with "why not me ...". I know there is no rhyme or reason - it's just the luck of the draw.  Some days it gets pretty hard to keep fighting ... today is one of 'those' days

  • I can cope most days with medication. When I'm out of it for the day, I just ice up my back and relax. It helps quite a bit. But no picnic for sure and hard for others to understand.
Diagnosis: Thoracic facet syndrome & cervical and thoracic radiculopathy from car accident trauma.
  • You're right Savage - The procedure is very wrong... in so many ways!  Trying to find the way to get the right people to listen is the hardest part.  Everytime I think I've found the way it ends up with a "not my job" or a "not my jurisdiction".  I am so tired - physically and mentally.  I have been fighting for so long and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep doing this.

for the moment - I am just waiting (desperately) for the report from my Neurosurgeon ...
