Am joining tonight and writing this very teary-eyed. Please bear with me!
I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2005, after years of moderate pain and 4 years of intense pain. It has never ‘creeped up’ the spine, but instead stayed confined to the S-I joints and pelvis.
Last month, a new MRI also showed a herniated (5mm) disc at L5-S1, bulging discs at the other lumbar spaces, spinal stenosis around the L5-S1, foraminal stenosis, and overall osteo-arthritis (spondylosis)

As for meds: I am on Humira, synthroid, Zoloft, Norco, Lidoderm patches, and estrogen patches (post hysterectory).

I am scheduled for an epidural injection tomorrow in the L4 and L5 area; not real excited about this trial, but it’s been awhile since I’ve done this.

I am also waiting for a neurosurgeon to review the last MRI and see if I am a surgical candidate. He is very choosy, and did an excellent job with a herniated cervical disc 5 years ago. If he recommends surgery, I just may go for it. Scary, scary….

Guess that’s the gist of it. Thanks for listening!
Don't give up! We all care! :)
