myelogram for cervical issues..Is it inserted in lumbar or cervical?

Failed ESI and NS doesn't want to repeat and wants to move onto Myelogram (holy cow I'm scared) and I wondered will they insert the line down in lumbar or cervical area? This is for diagnosing why my right side neck, shoulders and under shoulder blade hurt and right hand goes numb. What is typical for puncture site for cervical diagnosis?

  • I was punctured in my lumbar region for a cervical image. They tip the table head side down toward the floor to let the die run to your neck. I ended up with a harsh CS leak from the injection site and needed a blood patch afterwords. Good luck

Had it yesterday and it was done lumbar. This was no joyful walk in the park and I do not ever want to repeat it again. I thought I would be sedated and they gave me a valium and a loreset two minute before walking into the xray room which was kind of stupid as I was wound up nervous and could have used the calming down portion BEFORE the procedure. Needless to say, I felt it all and when the table was tilted down and it hit my shoulders and neck, it was more than I have ever experienced before in pain and radiated up to my jaw. I have a low grade headache today that I hope will subside as the day goes on. Now waiting on Dr to call with results. I hope they show something on one hand to have a answer to what is causing this pain and hand numbness but on the other hand I hope they don't because that will maybe mean surgery. Praying for a simple answer and a quick fix so I can get back to my normal life from 4 years ago. In a not so peachy mood today and feeling kind of down.
