Possible Pinched Nerve in Neck?

Anyone experience a pinched nerve in their neck with severe pain in their rhomboid? It hurts but feels good to even touch it or massage. I thought originally it was a knot in the muscle but it's not responding to Aleve - it's been a week. Doc still says she thinks muscle but I have my doubts. Pain in radiating to shoulder and even a bit to my chest and elbow. Not horribly but an ache. Also I find relief when I pull my chin into my chest, almost as though it decompresses. Sitting still at my desk is the worse!

Sounds like a pinched nerve. I have one on a right side, it radiated down to my shoulder and bicep, I get tingly and numb feeling sometimes. I wear a neck brace to keep my head up. Usually its the trapezius that is involved in this, also rhomboids.
Just noticed this post is old.. Not sure it's helpful but I will comment anyway :)
