time on pain meds after surgery

I'm also frustrated with the amount of pain meds that I'm on. Two weeks out, and I feel like if I wait just an extra hour after I'm due for a dose of medication, I end up in agony and then it takes forever to get it back under control again. Not that I like hearing about others in pain, but it makes me feel better that some people are 4-6 weeks out, and still needing consistent pain control. It's frustrating with the ACDF since you can't really take anything but narcotics and Tylenol (and Tylenol is just useless for me). It would be nice to just supplement with some ibuprofen so that I don't feel so dependent on the narcotics, but I'm glad I'm not the only one still needing significant pain control a few weeks out of surgery.
