residual pain after synovial cyst surgery

I had an operation to remove a large synovial cyst Dec. 2015. Directly after op, I had no pain. for 2 wks. then pain returned in my right buttocks extending a little down the back of my leg--much much less than before op.!! Nonetheless it's still there 5 mo. later. I've been going to physical therapy 2x/wk. and doing the daily take home excersises more or less. How long will it take before the pain is all gone? Could this be permanent? thank you for your thoughts.
