Continuous Passive Movement

I've searched around the forums to see if this question has been asked before but haven't found any mention of it.
Has anyone tried one of those passive movement machines for the relief of back pain?  I think they're called 'BackEase' or something similar.
The advertising blurb is very persuasive, but they're a lot of money and I'd like a bit more information, preferably from someone who has used one, before I splash out nearly £200 for one, I'm obviously in the UK.  I've lived with my pain for 50 years and its gradually getting worse so it would be lovely to spend the rest of my life feeling easier (totally pain-free may be too much to ask after such a long time).
