Introducing myself

Hi, 48 years ago I was injured with some shrap metal to my lower back while I was giving medical care to my Marines in Vietnam, thus the user name doclawrence. The concussion of that did some disc problems which I finally had fixed.

  • hello, lawrence1!

first, thank you for your service!

second, what type of procedure(s) have you had to "fix" your spine?  did you still have any shrapnel in there?  i remember as a little girl seeing the puckered scars up my father's side (he was a wwii vet), and he explained that it was from shrapnel injuries.  his tent mate did not survive the attack, so i figure i'm pretty darn lucky to be here!

i'd like to welcome you to spine-health!  please click on the following link for some helpful information to get you started!

Thank you. The concussion that put the shrapnel near L3-L4 caused damage(bulging of disc) kept getting worse. Disc removed and vertebrae fused. Now fluid pocket pressing on left sciatic nerve.
