New here

Hello everyone. I am new here. Getting a Nevro temp SCS installed on Oct 14th. Really been looking forward to it. Been hurting bad since 2001. Had laminectomy on L4/5 at that time. Had artificial disc replacement, in 2012, on C5/6 and fusion, in 2013, on C6/7. This year's MRIs showed herniated discs from top to bottom with degenerative disc disease and arthritis. Been under the care of a pain mgmt doc since 2014. I've had about 50 day surgeries since 2012. Nothing seems to clear up my pain. I am really hoping the SCS helps me.

  • hello, jimanddjr!

you have certainly traveled a rough road...i'm sorry to hear of your struggles.  i do hope that the scs will bring you the relief you're hoping for!!

there are members here who are all along the spectrum in terms of their experiences with spinal cord stimulators.  may i suggest that you try using the search feature in the upper right hand corner to locate posts/articles on the subject?  that may help to put you in faster contact with other members who have scs devices, and will also be helpful to you in the informational sense with the articles you'll find!!

Thanks for the feedback Kimmy. My cervical surgeries have been life changing. Have not worked in 4.5 years. Doc said I can't get disability on just pain so I have not even tried. My main objective, with the SCS, is to get back to work early next year. While early retirement, at 54 yrs old, sounds great, with pain, it can be quite the challenge.
