I woke up with a soreness in between my shoulder blades. Later, shooting pain down my arm. Thought I was having a stroke. I went to the ER; where they diagnosed me with Cervical Radiculopathy. They gave me Valium, a steroid and Hydrocodone and sent me home. I could not work that day. I work 7 days a week and sometimes 2 jobs a day. I can't afford to take off. Well, needless to say the my Primary doctor just gave me a muscle relaxer and more hydrocodone; I went to see my Chiro independently(not covered under my insurance). Had to get a referral for a specialist, still waiting for an appointment. My Primary will not give me pain management. She said the specialist has to do it. But when? It sucks and no one believes you're in pain. One night I could not sleep at all; How do I go to work. Had to call in sick.
I was scared to death; I thought what an easy way to die and nobody know; because you are so much pain that does not go away and I can't even remember how I ate 30 muscle relaxers in a week; that should had lasted a month; same with the hydrocodone. Now I am taking over the counter NSAIDS and doing anywhere from 880mg to 1100mg every 6-8 hours. Pain is dull; but the pain that shoots down my arm and makes my finger numb and tingly is scaring me too. Monday can't come soon enough; and that's when the Specialist just looks at my paperwork and xray. Then he'll give ma an appointment and I have no idea when thats going to be.
