Don't know how much more I can take

had 4 back surgeries since 2008 and then an axilift  still in so much pain, known  what you  mean about bowel  movements, does anyone know if you  can get  the  axilift  taken out?

    From what I have read about AXLIFT system - it appears to be a permanent implant. Removal of hardware is not done (in general) unless there is breakage of the hardware, allergy to the hardware, infection, and/or revision due to non union.

    In your case it would be best to ask your surgeon his intentions.

    I asked my surgeon once if I would have any of my hardware removed - He responded that no .... it is now part of me and I will have it the rest of my life. If I had my hardware removed- my head would fall of my neck!!

    Now If have heard of hardware removal in SOME lumbar spine cases and most often when discussing Harrington Rods for Scoliosis patients.
